It's possible that they're blue pimpernels.

Of course, I'm a sadistic witch who thrives on irony and think it's hilarious if they are Forget-me-Nots.

Yeah yeah...

Sadistic, eh? Don't make me bust out the Donna Noble and Dory (from Nemo) gifset. THAT would be sadistic.

I just got images of Donna trying to speak whale. And running around the TARDIS yelling, "42 Wallaby Way, Sydney!"

As I don't know how to tell them apart... I like to think they're forget-me-nots. Too many layers of meaning. And why would he wear pimpernels?

It is difficult to tell, but I'll definitely buy into the "forget-me-not" camp. So many layers of meaning, and this did take place sometime after he made Donna forget, plus he had to forget that he saved Gallifrey. Sigh on both counts...

That last picture kills me every time. He actually wasn't crying himself, he was way too distraught, I think, more like inconsolable. Instead, it seems like the whole world was crying for Donna on his behalf. It's when he has that 'dead' look on his face that you know he's really feeling something deeply, either anger or hurt or even both.

It is a pretty tie, though. He did wear the most gorgeous ties!

^ THIS! And Ten brushes it off as atmospheric disturbance. No, THE WORLD IS CRYING!

If he didn't pretend to brush it off, he'd have shattered immediately. He never really recovered from that loss...

The closest he came to actually showing what he was feeling during that whole fiasco was when Sylvia told him that Donna was still the most important woman, and he shot back at her that it might be good if she showed Donna a little more often. You could tell he was keeping a tight rein on his anger at Sylvia for constantly beating Donna down verbally.

Ditto to everything said in response to my first post. It was all too much for him. That's the look of man whose entire world has collapsed around him. All his hopes and dreams. Only the TARDIS and a future he's not happy about remain.

Not much wonder he regenerated relatively soon after. Ten never took on another companion after Donna, absolutely refused. As we saw in "Waters of Mars," he really must have someone to temper him. It was only after he regenerated that he finally took on another companion.

Even as Eleven, he had some moments when you could tell he was still shattered over Donna. He didn't respond and nearly cringed when Amy referred to herself as his best friend. He actually screamed when Donna appeared as his voice interface. Not even Rose's appearance made him scream like that.

To be honest, I'm just glad you're not claiming they are roses on his tie like many people on tumblr did.

Forget-me-nots makes so much more sense in his personal time line.

Even when I squint, I can't see roses. How do people get roses from that?

I like to think they're forget-me-nots. Personal headcanon, I suppose.

They get roses because they want to. No rose I've ever seen has looked like that, and we had them in our garden growing up.

Yeah, I can see forget-me-nots.

Where is 'why-would-you-post-that?' Doctor when you need him?
